This year, for the first time, winners of the top three international harp competitions: Anneleen Lenaerts (Lily Laskine International Harp Competition 2006); Sivan Magen, International Harp Contest in Israel 2006) and Maria Krushevskaya (USA International Harp Competition 2007), have been invited to perform during the opening ceremony of the World Harp Congress to be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands from July 17-23, 2008.
"We are delighted that these fine young harpists will be recognized for their important accomplishments as winners of the most prestigious international harp competitions and will be performing at the opening ceremonies of the World Harp Congress," says Julia Salvi, president of the Victor Salvi Foundation. "It is a well-deserved honor for each -- they are not only outstanding ambassadors to the harp world, they are inspiring examples to the many young harpists who will someday follow in their footsteps."
