First Giovani Virtuosi Dell’Arpa Series September 10 To November 2

Piasco, Italy (Cuneo) — The first Gionvani Virtuosi Dell’Arpa Series featuring four of the world’s finest young harpists: Letizia Belmondo, Emmanuel Ceysson, Anneleen Leanearts and Varvara Ivanova, will take place in the Piedmont region from September 10 to November 2, 2006. Concerts will be held in some of the region’s most beautiful ancient palaces, castles and churches. The series is sponsored by the Museo dell’Arpa Victor Salvi in Piasco with the collaboration of Associazione Culturale Marcovaldo and Fondazione Ferrero.

"We are very proud to present these outstanding young artists to the Piedmont region," says Julia Salvi, president of the Victor Salvi Foundation. "Each has competed in one of the leading international harp competitions and earned the top prize for their superb musical abilities."

 

Concert Schedule

All concerts begin at 9:00 pm and are free and open to the public.

September 10 – Letizia Belmondo, first harpist, Opera Royal Orchestra of Monnaie, Brussells Castle of Roccolo in Busca (Cuneo)

September 24 – Emmanuel Ceysson, harpist, Paris Opera Abbey of Casanova in Carmagnola (Torino)

October 17 – Anneleen Leanearts and Giuseppe Nova, harp and flute Hall of the Ferrero Foundation in Alba (Cuneo)

November 2 – Varvara Ivanova, harp Auditorium, Museo dell’Arpa Victor Salvi in Piasco (Cuneo)

The Museo dell’Arpa, the world’s only museum devoted exclusively to the harp, opened to the public in January, 2006. Located in Piasco, Italy (Cuneo), on top of the Salvi Harps factory, it a features a collection of harps managed by the Victor Salvi Foundation dating back three centuries. A revolving exhibit will showcase different aspects of this unique collection.

The museum is open weekdays from Wednesday to Sunday from 10.00 – 13.00 am / 14.00-17.00 . Admission is 5 €.
