Anneleen Lenaerts Debuts at Wigmore Hall London November 2, 2007

London   The Victor Salvi Foundation will present Anneleen Lenaerts, winner of the Lily Laskine International Harp Competition in her London debut recital at The Wigmore Hall on Friday, November 2nd at 7:30 pm. Miss Lenaerts will be accompanied by the Allegri String Quartet and flautist, Nicola Phillips. Tickets are available at the box office of the Wigmore Hall or online at www.wigmore-hall.org.uk. Anneleen Lenaerts was the First Prize winner of the 5th Lily Laskine International Harp Competition (2005), during which she was awarded the special prize for her performances of Chaconne by J.S.Bach and the compulsory piece “Eloge de L’Hombre’ by Karol Beffa. She was born in Belgium in 1987 and began playing the harp at the age of nine as a student of Lieve Robbroeckx, with whom she studied for nine years. Miss Lenaerts has participated in master classes with renowned harpists including, Marielle Nordmann, Susann McDonald and Isabelle Moretti. She is currently studying at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Jana Bouskova and Isabelle Perrin.

Miss Lenaerts has given solo recitals in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Hungary, Italy and Austria and was chosen for the Focus on Youth concerts at the World Harp Congresses in Geneva (2002) and Dublin in (2005). She has also been a soloist with numerous professional orchestras and conductors in Belgium and abroad, including Limburgs Symfonie Orkest, de Filharmonie, Flemish Broadcasting Orchestra and Het Vlaams Radio Orkest. In November 2007 she will be performing the Concerto for Flute & Harp by W.A.Mozart with Francesca Canali (Flute) and the Mozarteum Orchester at the Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg.

The Victor Salvi Foundation was created in Chicago in August, 2000, with the aim of promoting the harp to a wider audience. With the help of its patrons - Salvi Harps, Lyon & Healy Harps, and Bow Brand International - the Foundation sponsors international harp competitions including the Lily Laskine International Harp Competition, the USA International Harp Competition and the Israel International Harp Competition. The Foundation also helps the winners of these competitions by launching their careers through a series of debut recitals and recordings with Egan Records. In addition, the Foundation is involved in the promotion of educational and research programmes that expand awareness of the harp and its music, often through the commissioning of new works for the harp. The Foundation also exhibits ‘Three Centuries of Harpmaking,, the most comprehensive collection of antique harps in the world, the collection is on permanent display at the Victor Salvi Museum in Piasco, Italy.
