CHICAGO – June 18, 2007 –The Victor Salvi Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of the first Victor Salvi Foundation Awards, presented at Lyon & Healy Hall on June 16 and 17. The award was presented in conjunction with the American Harp Society. In years to come, it will be presented alternately with the Society's Anne Adams Award.

Angela Dastrup of Orem, UT; Heidi Van Hoesen Gorton of New York, NY and Hannah Kuipers of Rochester, MN. were the three top winners. Each received a check from the Victor Salvi Foundation for $2,000, a $500 Lyon & Healy gift certificate and a winners’ plaque to commemorate their award.

In addition to the top prize winners the jury awarded three honorable mention prizes to the following competitors: Rachel Brandwein of Fairway, KS: Emily Levin of Centennial, CO and Hee Jin Yoon of Bloomington, IN. Jurors were Andrea Swan, prominent Chicago pianist; Dr. Ann Yeung, Associate Professor of Harp at Illinois University Urbana-Champaign, and Dan Yu, Victor Salvi Foundation Laureate,

Other participants included Lionel Vargas, Megan Landfair, Matthew Tutsky, Hannah Blalock, Emily Levin, Sadie Turner, Nuiko Wadden, Sara Shute, Heidi Van Hoesen Gorton and Hannah Kuipers. Hee-Jin Yoon, Cheryl Losey, Heidi Tims, Madeline Blood, Rachel Brandwein, Michelle Gott and Angela Dastrup.
